Love Cats? You’ll Just Love Sweet Tales!

Sweet Tales By: Laurie Hyman

“The Adventures of Miss Jade and Britt the Kit,” a collection of stories about two cats who travel with their owners between an apartment in Manhattan and a country house in upstate New York, hits book stores and online outlets this December, announced publisher Red Sky Presents. “The Adventures of Miss Jade and Britt the Kit,” is the first book in author Laurie Hyman’s “Sweet Tales” series,

“I wanted to tell these stories from the cat’s point of view” said Hyman. “They focus on real life experiences and explore universal themes that are resolved with understanding, wisdom and love. They are fun to read to young children, and for animal lovers of all ages — anyone who enjoys a good tale.

About “THE ADVENTURES OF MISS JADE AND BRITT THE KIT”

Set in Manhattan and a rural retreat in upstate New York, “The Adventures of Miss Jade and Britt the Kit” is a collection of four stories focusing on Jade, a Russian Blue, and her younger sister Brittany, an orange tabby, who, with the help of their human and animal friends, learn about love, friendship and helping others, while facing universal problems of loneliness, bullying, and loss in sensitive and imaginative ways.

The stories focus on Jade’s interactions with Tony, a young boy living in Manhattan, who is struggling with loneliness and fear caused by his father’s illness; Charcoal, a country cat whose bullying ways unite the cats’ animal friends to protect their community and a kitten he has injured; Harry, a horse who gets a second chance after facing a trip to “Last Chance Luther’s” because his owners can no longer afford to keep him; and the two cats, a very special fox known as “The Prince of Tails”, and their animal friends’ efforts to protect their homes and the environment they love from being destroyed by developers.

Bash Dibra, author of “ Catspeak,” had high praise for the stories saying: “A great book… An adventure from start to finish… just, honorable morale in a small community looking out for each other.”

David Saperstein, the New York Times best-selling Author of The Cocoon Trilogy, also praised Hyman’s debut, saying: “First-time author Laurie Hyman has done a terrific job with deceptively simple stories, well-told, that resonate long after their reading. Each of the stories highlights important ways friends are there for each other, and children will love the memorable animal characters.”

“We are excited to be launching this new series,” said James Rosenfield, co-founder of Red Sky Presents, “which combines wonderful story telling with the author’s appreciation for the joys and challenges we all face growing up.”
