“You need to stop fighting this. It’s bigger than both of us.”

We are happy to share the latest review of The Congressman’s Wife, this time by Stacy Dermont of the iconic Hamptons’ website, Dan’s Papers…

And now for the review:

Long Island author Aristodemos Pavlou is better known as “Chef Arie” to many. Few would guess that this accomplished culinarian had a trilogy of romance novels up his sleeve. But while reading The Congressman’s Wife (Red Sky Presents New York, 2016), much is revealed about this complex man.

Perhaps Pavlou is a “romantic” in the classical sense that he rejects established norms and conventions. Just this month he opened his own restaurant, Bistro Été, in the former Robert’s space in Water Mill! But, actually, his finely tuned cooking skills hew to the traditional French and Mediterranean cuisines. The mastery he brings to his work is often what sets it apart.

Why was Pavlou moved to write these books? He says, “I have so many great stories!” Quite a few strands of a rich life are tied up in this first book in the series. And the Veuve Clicquot flows like water…One might wonder if a passage like “He knew the first time he’d looked into her eyes that she was for him, that somehow she would complete him, like he’d get back a part of him he hadn’t even known was missing,” could have been inspired by his relationship with his wife Liz, whom he married in February.  You can read the entire review by clicking here…

Love politics, sex and scandal?

“The beautiful wife of a would-be congressman falls for a sexy chef in this steamy debut novel… A spicy outing that should feed readers’ hunger for romance.” – Kirkus Reviews

All Eden Bancroft has ever been to her high-profile politician husband is a trophy wife, born and bred for the part. She believes she has no choice but to play it—until she meets a talented chef and restaurant heir who makes her feel loved for herself alone. The more her husband uses and belittles her, the more deeply Eden falls for Kaleb. Even with Mitchell’s congressional campaign in full swing, the lovers manage to find brief stolen moments together. When her husband is wounded by a bullet from a disgruntled lobbyist, Eden must stay by his side. What she learns can set her free, if she has the courage to take a stand.

The Congressman's Wife by Charlene Keel and Arie Pavlou

“A thrilling roller-coaster ride from beginning to end: fast-paced, sizzling with sex… unquestionably one of the best books I have read and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a well-written romance that is also a thriller.” – ReadersFavorite.com

Recipe #3 in our Exclusive Series of Gourmet Recipes by
Chef Arie Pavlou!

Gazpacho by #sexychef

This wonderful ice-cold Spanish soup, with influences from Greece, Italy and the Arab culture, may have originated with ancient Roman soldiers who carried the basics (dried bread, garlic and vinegar) with them on their military quests.  It was a great thirst quencher and they could add whatever vegetables or fruits they found along the way.  Over the centuries, it has evolved into several varieties.  It’s the perfect summer treat for lounging in the backyard while reading The Congressman’s Wife.

Ingredients

10 large ripe tomatoes
4 cucumbers
3 red peppers
1 onion
Salt
Fresh ground pepper
Celantro
Extra virgin olive oil

Chop all ingredients.  Put in large bowl.
Puree in food processor then pass through China cap.
Season with salt and fresh ground pepper.  Refrigerate.

Before serving, add a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of finely chopped cilantro.  Top with a teaspoon of burnoise of red pepper, onion and cucumber for garnish.  Serve chilled and in a chilled bowl.

“The Congressman’s Wife” by Charlene Keel and Arie Pavlou is a steamy action-packed novel about the beautiful wife of a congressman who falls for a sexy chef.

“A spicy outing that should feed readers’ hunger for romance.”

20QsLogo1the congressmans wife cover

Here’s a sneak peek of the interview:

Q: Have you always written in the romance genre? If not, what else have you written?

A: I started out writing comedy expose (The Sky’s The Limit), then got into historical romance (The Lodestone). I’ve also written how-to books, and for my ghostwriting clients, biographies, autobiographies, romance novels, and screenplays.

Q: What or who inspired you to be a writer?

A: Reading Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women when I was in the third grade. That’s when I learned that girls could write stories and send them to a publisher and they would become books. I’ve wanted to be an author ever since.

Red Sky Presents signs author and screenwriter Charlene Keel to multi-book deal

Politics, Scandal and Sex

Red Sky Presents is pleased to announce signing author, journalist and screenwriter Charlene Keel to a multiple book deal. The first installment of her new trilogy, The Congressman’s Wife, involves politics, scandal and sex and is set for a February 2016 release. The first book in her second trilogy, The Lodestone, is a historical romance and will also be released early next year. The agreement also calls for a young adult fantasy adventure and a contemporary southern romance set in the worlds of country music and horse racing. Both will be open-ended series.

Keel’s recent credits include The Tracks trilogy for HCI Books, a young adult paranormal adventure, which won a Paranormal Romance Guild Reviewer’s Choice award with its third installment, Shadow Train. Keel is the author of over a dozen novels and how-to books. Her Dell novel, Rituals, was the basis for the syndicated Telepictures/Metromedia soap opera and was touted as “the first five-day-a-week serialized drama assembled outside the three major networks.” Keel has also written for such TV shows as Fantasy Island and Days of Our Lives, and she has served as editor or managing editor of international magazines including For the Bride, Playgirl and Black Elegance.
